REPORTS TO:                        Director, Social Media and Mobile Marketing   

WORK SCHEDULE:                Monday – Friday; 8:30AM – 5:00PM

SUMMARY:

A.C. Moore’s Craftologists are the creative artists responsible for representing, evolving and defining A.C. Moore’s unique brand point of view within the arts and crafts consumer segment. You will work in a team of artisans to create projects that will be featured across the company’s marketing ecosystem, including: product packaging, in-store theater, print advertising, digital properties and PR activations. The Craftologist’s primary role is to deliver high-quality, original, aspirational and replicable arts and crafts projects that elevate the A.C. Moore brand, in accordance with articulated marketing strategy and business needs. This Team Member must have creativity and curiosity to deliver an enlightening and engaging consumer experience and must act with the A.C. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Produce original creative projects to represent A.C. Moore as a leadership brand within the arts and crafts marketplace.

  • Actively participate in ideation sessions for content marketing, interpreting concepts into collateral to deliver across all relevant marketing channels.

  • Conceptualize and deliver projects according to business needs, budgets and timelines.

  • Identify and stay abreast of trends, techniques, resources, processes and technologies

  • Source and curate materials necessary to create deliverables.

  • Optimize content in accordance with best practices for individual business purposes.

  • Meet regularly with social, print, CSR, packaging teams and merchandising leads to review project needs, align on deliverables and develop mutually agreeable timelines.

  • Articulate step-by-step process for creative projects with written or video instructions.

  • Ensure that brand standards for consistency, quality and product integrity are met or exceeded.

  • Attend photo and video shoots as necessary; represent artistic perspective and confirm compliance with creative brief, with a goal toward minimizing rework.

  • Be an attentive steward for projects and products, assuring care and safety of all samples as they move through the creation, photography and video production process.

  • Work across project areas to ensure the company is delivering a consistent brand image to the customer, regardless of marketing vehicle.

  • Stay up-to-date on industry, influencer, category and technology trends to inform content development process and position A.C. Moore as a knowledgeable leader in the arts and crafts space.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Depth of expertise in at least one broad craft category, for example: knit/crochet, cake and candy making, jewelry making, paper craft, fine art, fashion crafts, children’s crafts, floral design, etc.

  • Familiarity with craft supplies and tools; willingness to experiment with new products and techniques

  • Fundamental understanding of creative process within a business environment; ability to translate business needs into creative deliverables based on defined briefs and open-ended conversations

  • Strong interest in lifestyle, retail, fashion, creative or related area(s) with a demonstrated eye for style, color and visual composition.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any creative arts or education-related discipline preferred.

  • Three to five years’ experience in a retail, consumer-oriented, or educational setting.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and facility with social media platforms, especially: Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, YouTube.

  • Basic knowledge of general consumer marketing principles preferred.

  • Collaborative working style, with a team-oriented approach to goal-setting and consensus-building.

  • Ability to prioritize, while remaining flexible and agile to accommodate changes in schedule or direction.

  • Ability to build effective relationships with cross-departmental and external partners.

  • Ability to act quickly, creatively, independently and confidently to solve challenges in real time.

  • Comfort with video production and willingness to appear and speak on-camera a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work is performed in a standard office environment.  Team Members must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
