TITLE:                             Buyer’s Assistant

DEPARTMENT:                Merchandising

REPORTS TO:                 Buyer

WORK SCHEDULE:          8:30am – 5:00pm; Monday through Friday

SUMMARY:

The Buyer’s Assistant will provide operational and analytical support for the Buyers within the A.C. Moore Store Support Center.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage all aspects of item maintenance
  • Create Purchase Orders
  • Complete and maintain Advertising Turn In sheets and Candidate sheets
  • Coordinate with the Marketing department on Advertising samples for photography
  • Track seasonal liability and sell through (POS reports)
  • Track advertising results
  • Organize and track orders to ensure timely delivery
  • Assist with Plan-o-gram resets and financials
  • Participate in vendor meetings
  • Communicate with vendors and stores
  • Send Weekly Point of Sale (POS) information to vendors as required
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with members of cross functional team (Store Operations, Marketing/Advertising, Distribution and Finance)
  • Provide manager with timely feedback on personal development and training needs
  • Communicate with Allocation and vendors to provide information and problem solve
  • Shop competition and A.C. Moore stores to identify opportunities
  • Cover for receptionist lunches/breaks per monthly schedule

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A 4-year degree in business or a related field preferred
  • Previous experience working within a retail environment
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet all deadlines
  • Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and a strong aptitude to learn technical applications quickly
  • Energetic and driven

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work is performed in a standard office environment.  Team Members must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
